How to cancel Amazon Prime
Cancel your Amazon Prime subscription in 4 steps, stop the next charge, and what happens to your access.
You cancel Amazon Prime on its own account page (amazon.com), in 4 steps. If you pay through the App Store or Google Play, cancel there instead. You normally keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Cancel Amazon Prime, step by step
- Open Your Account, then Prime Membership.
- Select Manage membership, then End membership.
- Confirm each step until you see the end date.
- Prime bought through Apple or Google Play is cancelled there instead.

Subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?
Then Amazon Prime can't cancel it for you: the store bills you, so you cancel there.
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Amazon Prime → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Amazon Prime → Cancel subscription.
Paid with UPI AutoPay?
Cancelling stops Amazon Prime renewing, but the AutoPay mandate can stay in your UPI app. Revoke it so nothing is taken by mistake:
- Open the UPI app you used (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm or your bank's app).
- Find AutoPay (often under your profile or settings, sometimes called Mandates).
- Choose the Amazon Prime mandate, tap Cancel or Revoke, and confirm with your UPI PIN.
A cancellation email you can copy
If Amazon Prime's page won't let you cancel, send this to their support through their help page or chat:
Subject: Please cancel my Amazon Prime subscription Hello, Please cancel my Amazon Prime subscription on the account registered to this email address, with effect from the end of the current billing period, and confirm by email. Please do not renew or charge me again. Thank you.

Will I get a refund if I cancel Amazon Prime?
Usually not for the period you've already paid for: you keep access until it ends. Some services refund on request in the first few days; ask Amazon Prime's support if you were charged by mistake.
Does deleting the Amazon Prime app cancel it?
No. Deleting an app never cancels a subscription. Cancel on the account page, or in the App Store or Google Play if you subscribed there.
How do I stop Amazon Prime charging me again?
Cancel using the steps above, then check your next statement. If you set up UPI AutoPay, revoke the mandate in your UPI app too.
