How to cancel Planet Fitness
Cancel your Planet Fitness subscription in 3 steps, stop the next charge, and what happens to your access.
You cancel Planet Fitness on its own account page (planetfitness.com), in 3 steps. If you pay through the App Store or Google Play, cancel there instead. You normally keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Cancel Planet Fitness, step by step
- Planet Fitness cancels at your home club, not in the app.
- Visit the front desk, or send a signed cancellation letter by certified mail to your home club.
- Ask for written confirmation and note any annual fee date.

Subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?
Then Planet Fitness can't cancel it for you: the store bills you, so you cancel there.
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Planet Fitness → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Planet Fitness → Cancel subscription.

If Planet Fitness's page won't let you cancel, send this to their support through their help page or chat:
Subject: Please cancel my Planet Fitness subscription Hello, Please cancel my Planet Fitness subscription on the account registered to this email address, with effect from the end of the current billing period, and confirm by email. Please do not renew or charge me again. Thank you.
Questions
Will I get a refund if I cancel Planet Fitness?
Usually not for the period you've already paid for: you keep access until it ends. Some services refund on request in the first few days; ask Planet Fitness's support if you were charged by mistake.
Does deleting the Planet Fitness app cancel it?
No. Deleting an app never cancels a subscription. Cancel on the account page, or in the App Store or Google Play if you subscribed there.
How do I stop Planet Fitness charging me again?
Cancel using the steps above, then check your next statement. If you paid with a card, the charge stops after cancelling; you don't need to cancel the card.
