How to cancel YouTube Premium
Cancel your YouTube Premium subscription in 3 steps, stop the next charge, and what happens to your access.
You cancel YouTube Premium on its own account page (youtube.com), in 3 steps. If you pay through the App Store or Google Play, cancel there instead. You normally keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Cancel YouTube Premium, step by step
- Open youtube.com/paid_memberships while signed in.
- Select Manage membership.
- Choose Deactivate, then Continue to cancel.

Subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?
Then YouTube Premium can't cancel it for you: the store bills you, so you cancel there.
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → YouTube Premium → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → YouTube Premium → Cancel subscription.
Paid with UPI AutoPay?
Cancelling stops YouTube Premium renewing, but the AutoPay mandate can stay in your UPI app. Revoke it so nothing is taken by mistake:
- Open the UPI app you used (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm or your bank's app).
- Find AutoPay (often under your profile or settings, sometimes called Mandates).
- Choose the YouTube Premium mandate, tap Cancel or Revoke, and confirm with your UPI PIN.
A cancellation email you can copy
If YouTube Premium's page won't let you cancel, send this to their support through their help page or chat:
Subject: Please cancel my YouTube Premium subscription Hello, Please cancel my YouTube Premium subscription on the account registered to this email address, with effect from the end of the current billing period, and confirm by email. Please do not renew or charge me again. Thank you.
Questions
Will I get a refund if I cancel YouTube Premium?
Usually not for the period you've already paid for: you keep access until it ends. Some services refund on request in the first few days; ask YouTube Premium's support if you were charged by mistake.
Does deleting the YouTube Premium app cancel it?
No. Deleting an app never cancels a subscription. Cancel on the account page, or in the App Store or Google Play if you subscribed there.
How do I stop YouTube Premium charging me again?
Cancel using the steps above, then check your next statement. If you set up UPI AutoPay, revoke the mandate in your UPI app too.
